Connections of Jeffrey Epstein

A Force-Directed Network of Associates, Institutions & Key Figures

The Epstein Network: An Overview

Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender and financier, cultivated an extraordinary web of connections spanning politics, science, finance, royalty, and entertainment. His network was not incidental—it was deliberately constructed as a system of influence and, allegedly, of control. As one ex-girlfriend reported Epstein saying: "I control everyone and everything, I collect people, I own people, I can damage people."

Inner Circle & Co-Conspirators

At the core of Epstein's operation sat Ghislaine Maxwell, his romantic partner and convicted co-conspirator in sex trafficking. The US Justice Department mapped his inner circle as including Jean-Luc Brunel (modeling agent), Lesley Groff, Darren Indyke (lawyer), Baron Richard Kahn, Harry Beller (accountant), and Sarah Kellen—the latter described by a judge as "a criminally responsible participant." These operatives recruited victims, managed logistics, and maintained the infrastructure of Epstein's trafficking enterprise.

Political Connections

Epstein visited the Clinton White House at least 17 times. Bill Clinton flew on the "Lolita Express" on at least 17 flight legs, including an Africa trip with Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker. Donald Trump socialized with Epstein from the late 1980s through the mid-2000s at Mar-a-Lago and elsewhere. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak visited Epstein around 30 times and flew on his jet. British politician Peter Mandelson maintained both friendship and business ties with Epstein through and after his conviction. US Senator George J. Mitchell called his friendship with Epstein "a blessing."

Science & Academia

Epstein donated $30 million to Harvard for Martin Nowak's lab, where Epstein kept a personal office for 9 years—even after conviction—visiting over 40 times "typically accompanied by young women." He funded AI pioneer Marvin Minsky, geneticist George Church, Nobel laureate Murray Gell-Mann, physicist Lawrence Krauss, and many others. He hosted scientists on his private island and bankrolled intellectual salons through literary agent John Brockman's "Billionaires' Dinners."

Finance & Business

Epstein managed the affairs of the Rothschild Group and Edmond de Rothschild Group from 2013 until his death, receiving $25 million for consulting. He invested $40 million in Peter Thiel's Valar Ventures. JP Morgan Chase was sued for allegedly facilitating his trafficking operation. Billionaire Mortimer Zuckerman paid Epstein millions for financial services years after his conviction.

Royalty & International Figures

Prince Andrew's relationship with Epstein led to the stripping of his royal titles. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway exchanged intimate personal messages with Epstein from 2012 to 2013, staying at his Palm Beach mansion. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appeared in Epstein's "black book" of 1,700+ contacts.

Institutional Reach

Epstein sat on the board of Rockefeller University, was a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations, a visiting fellow at Harvard, a trustee of the Fulbright Program's parent organization, and a founding member of the Scholar Rescue Fund. He funded universities including Columbia, Cornell, NYU, and the Juilliard School, and donated to numerous Jewish organizations.
